Nestlé Pakistan is committed to helping the survivors of the earthquake that recently hit Awaran District in Balochistan. The company has so far donated 75 tons of water and 15 tons of liquid milk.
In the spirit of helping the affected communities, employees of Nestlé Pakistan have come forward with donations to the Awaran earthquake survivors which will be matched rupee for rupee by the company in the coming days. In a recent meeting which Nestlé Pakistan’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Waqar Ahmad, had with Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, he presented him a message of support on behalf of Nestlé Pakistan’s Managing Director, Magdi Batato, and the employees of Nestlé Pakistan.
Mr. Batato said he was deeply saddened by the earthquake in Balochistan which caused immense damage to life and property. He shared his deep condolences with the affectees and pledged Nestlé’s support in dealing with the calamity. The Nestlé MD said his company had already made donations worth Rs. 3 million to help affected communities cope with the disaster.
He said Nestlé Pakistan had always been active in supporting and providing humanitarian assistance to communities after natural disasters by providing food products and relief goods.
Nestlé Pakistan has also extended assistance to the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) in the past to help survivors of national calamities, and also felicitated the NDMA on the commemoration of 8 October as National Disaster Awareness Day.
