Nestlé’s Nutrition Support Program annually provides nutritious products to approximately 20,000 children and underprivileged people who suffer from key micronutrient deficiencies. Nestlé Pakistan regularly provides company products, primarily fortified milk, to selected schools in urban, semi-urban and rural areas. The children that attend the educational institutes we support are poor and their parents cannot afford to fulfill their nutritional needs. The schools are selected after giving due consideration to the profile of the managing organization – capacity of the organization, its outreach and resource availability.
Nestlé Pakistan is providing regular nutritional support to the underprivileged students of Mashal school, a NGO managed school in Islamabad for the underprivileged children living in Noor Poor Shahan. “The children who study at Mashal School are unable to afford a healthy meal a day and Nestlé has helped, on regular basis, in providing milk to every student of this school and contributing in fulfilling the nutritional needs of these underprivileged children.” says Zeba Hussain, chairperson MASHAL.
Mountain School Changla Gali is also a recipient of milk donation from Nestlé Pakistan. The children who study at Mountain School Changla Gali (Galliat) are unable to afford a healthy meal a day as they are from the community which is under privileged. To address this concern, the Mountain School sought Nestlé’s help. The company provides each student with a daily serving of milk. Although the school cannot provide them with a meal, the administration says that regular intake of milk provides children some of the nourishment they need.
Our Nutrition support program is geared to support school-going children whose parents are unable to provide them with a serving of milk to fulfil their nutritional needs. The program also supports organizations working with destitute women as well as social welfare organizations for sports and culture.
