Water Stewardship: Nestlé Pakistan first market to implement international water management standard

Nestlé Pakistan has become the first market in the Nestlé world to start implementing Alliance for Water Stewardship’s (AWS) International Water Stewardship Standard.

The standard is an international benchmark which is being implemented in different parts of the world to promote better management of site-specific water use and the water catchment areas to address shared water concerns related to quality, quantity and governance.

In the first phase, WWF-Pakistan will be facilitating the implementation of AWS Standard at Nestlé Pakistan’s Sheikhupura Factory. As part of its commitment to water stewardship, Nestlé Pakistan will launch different projects in partnership with WWF-Pakistan to improve the company’s water usage (within as well as outside the premises and supply chain) such as water footprint management, and community engagement.
