Healthy Women Program was launched in 2014 with the belief that women play an integral role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of the entire family. Our goal is to empower young women with basic nutrition knowledge so they make smart nutrition choices and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Indicators show that malnutrition, including both under-nutrition and obesity, among the rural as well as urban women of reproductive age in Pakistan is high. Malnourished women are more likely to have children with nutritional deficiencies. Achieving better health and overall wellbeing requires a fundamental understanding of what constitutes good nutrition.

Nestlé Healthy Women has set a campaign with multiple stages, each with a reward for those who make it to the next stage. These stages include nutritional awareness sessions, conventional quizzes, digital engagement, hands-on healthy cooking classes, poster presentations and engagement with senior management at Nestlé. In addition, successful participants are being offered an internship program that encompasses extensive exposure to the organization and possible future prospects.

To date, the program has reached out to more than 4,000 young women across 11 universities nationwide.

In 2017, Nestlé Pakistan also collaborated with Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) to provide basic nutrition knowledge to rural women. The purpose of this partnership is two-fold: provide economic opportunity to the BISP Beneficiaries, and tackle the very serious issue of micronutrient deficiency amongst our rural women. This program aims at informing and empowering them to make better nutrition choices for themselves and their family. Nestlé Pakistan completed its first nutrition workshop in Renala with over 60 beneficiaries in its first cohort. We plan on conducting at least 15 nutrition workshops in the districts of both Punjab and Sindh in 2018.
