The Basti Allahbad Government Primary School will provide quality education to the children of the community and surrounding areas. Nestlé Pakistan has built 5 classrooms, the principal’s office, 3 washrooms and a guardroom at the school and has provided filtered drinking water. It has also provided furniture.

I laud the fact that the school will bring the light of education to Basti Allahbad and the surrounding areas. Creating Shared Value is how we do business; we want to create value for our shareholders but also for the communities. We will continue such efforts.”

Nestlé Pakistan has constructed 3 new Clean Drinking Water facilities in Khanewal, Kabirwala and Village Allahabad earlier this year. Some 30,000 people living in the area now have free access to clean drinking water. Nestlé Pakistan is also maintaining the plants to ensure consistency of quality drinking water. The company has also taken its nutrition education programme, Nestlé Healthy Kids, to a Punjab Workers Welfare Board school in Multan.

The company is in the process of developing a Vocational Training Institute in Basti Allahbad for women in the area, where they will be provided sewing and stitching training free of cost.
