Easy ways to boost your Metabolism!

Metabolism is a general term used for all bio-chemical reactions in the body through which we process nutrients to maintain a living state.

Get your system revved up in seven easy steps! You will feel great as your quality of life improves.

1. Drink Up

You should have at least 8-10 glasses of water daily to flush out toxins and waste from your body. If you are indulging in vigorous exercise then make it 10-12 glasses of water.

2. Eat Balanced Meals

Take balanced meals three times a day. Make sure you get all the Proteins, Carbohydrates and natural Fats your body needs, along with necessary Vitamins and Minerals. Skipping meals or inconsistent meal times can cause your body's metabolism to slow down and increase the storage of fat.

3. Do not miss Breakfast

A nutritious breakfast will get your metabolism up and running. So do not wait too long for your first meal after you wake up.

4. Say Hello to Good Fats

Not all fats are bad. Stick to healthy unsaturated fats, such as olive oil, canola oil, corn oil, avocadoes and some nuts, and you should be fine.

5. Say Goodbye to Bad Fats

Trans fats and saturated fats are the sort that you should avoid. Try to have lean meat and low fat dairy products and avoid partially hydrogenated vegetable oils, shortenings, margarine (unless declared trans fat free), ghee, fatty cuts of meat, poultry with skin and commercially baked products made with hydrogenated vegetable oils.

6. Work It Out

Get exercise at least six days a week. Aside from your workout, try to integrate exercise into your daily life. Even little movements like stretching exercises while you work at your desk will help.

7. Listen to Your Body

Your body knows when it has had enough. Do not eat till you feel sick, and do not workout when your body complains or if you are tired or unwell.
