Nestle Pakistan extends help to earthquake affectees

The recent earthquake in Ziarat (Baluchistan Province, Pakistan) has created devastating effects. The earthquake was of high magnitude (6.5 RC) and after shocks are adding to the misery of the people. The damage reported by the media is 300 dead, 40,000 homeless and 35,000 injured. The people in the quake zone are mainly affected by cold (below 0'C), lack of shelter, warm clothing, acute shortage of food supplies and medical aid. Nestle Pakistan Ltd has arranged donations from the company, comprising of food supplies for over 700 affected families and the same is being channelized through local NGO's deployed in the affected area for fast pace delivery. Additionally, the company has also established a relief fund for volunteer donations by the employees and another trench of support in the shape of necessary supplies will be reaching the affectees during next week. The full extent of the damages is still to be ascertained as the area is large spread and communication is difficult.
